Ryan Jorgenson

Lead Pastor

Ryan loves to share with people how God forgave him of his sins and gave him purpose and meaning to life at a young age.  Ever since then he continues to experience the ongoing forgiveness of Christ and the joy of serving Him as a Pastor. God has spoiled him with his wife Holly of 20 years, plus three children, Josiah, Abram and Nevaeh.
He has been serving as a pastor for 20 years in IN, IA and FL. He has a BA in Christian Ministries from Indiana Wesleyan University and MDiv at Columbia International Seminary.
He enjoys anything their whole family is into including road trips, video games with his boys, deep and funny talks with his daughter, hiking, exercising and honestly, serving the Lord by sharing the Gospel and answering deep questions with biblical apologetics (who said serving God can't be fun?).

Having ministered in youth and worship in various places, John and Betsey moved their family to Rockford, IL in 2005.  Since then, John has been the senior pastor of Redeemer Church.

Matt Cocchi

Worship Director

Matt is well known for his undeniable passion for God’s word and reaching the lost. Being raised in the St. John’s county area, he is a former graduate of Bartram Trail High-School and received his bachelors from the University of North Florida. At the age of 19 years old, he had a true encounter with Jesus Christ. This was followed with college years full of the pursuit of God and the advancement of His kingdom with ministries such as Cru,

Matt was able to develop a love and passion for spreading the gospel. Being raised in a very musical family, Matt developed a love for music early on. Today, he continues to use music as a way to minister God’s heart through worship, song writing, guitar playing, and teaching others. He enjoys family, fellowship, and most of all pointing others to the risen Savior that truly changed him.

Jennifer Hedges

Kids Director

Jennifer grew up right here in the Fruit Cove area, attending Julington Creek Elementary and Nease Jr./Sr. High.  She surrendered her life to the Lord as a young teenager, though it wasn’t until she was a mom that Jennifer truly began to understand what it means to make Jesus Lord of your life.

For the last 25 years Jennifer has had the privilege to serve in varying roles in churches large and small, serve as a consultant for the Baptist Convention of Pennsylvania/South Jersey, lead Kids Ministry conferences throughout the country, and write Kids Ministry curriculum for Lifeway for approximately 17 years.

Jennifer loves to connect people of all ages to the beautiful words of Scripture, so that they can be pointed back to and fall in love with the God Who the pages are all about.

Serving God and spending time with her family are two of Jennifer’s greatest joys. Jennifer has a son, Aaron (married to Windsor), a daughter, Ashlynn (married to Sebastian), and three nephews she has helped raise, Matthew, Preston, and Bryce. She also has two grandchildren, Wilder  & Lucas!

David Goniotakis

Students Director

David recently moved to Jacksonville from Las Cruces, NM with his wife, Nikki, and two daughters, MaeElynn and Esther. In 2012, David submitted his life to Christ, followed by his wife in 2013. Shortly after this, David received the call of the Lord into ministry, receiving a degree in Christian Studies from Howard Payne University. This paved the way for him to serve as a youth pastor and interim pastor.

During his interim pastor role, a need was seen and a burden grew to help church plants. Out of this desire, he pursued a nursing degree. The purpose of this degree was to have a paying career outside of vocational ministry to serve in a church without a burden of a salary. Fast forward a few years and the Lord crossed the paths of Ryan and David. A relationship was made and a move was planned. When David isn’t serving the church or working you will find him fishing, eating noodles, or rooting on the Florida State Seminoles, all with his family by his side.

Josiah Swenson

Young Adults Director

Josiah has a passion for his peers and for young adults. Before joining Salvation Church, Josiah served in a college ministry in Jacksonville, Florida. As time progressed, Josiah was taking on more leadership in that ministry, yet at the same time trying to focus more on Saint Johns County. When presented with the opportunity to join Salvation Church after much prayer, Josiah decided to launch the church’s Young Adult ministry.

He graduated with a degree in Business Management from the University of North Florida in December of 2020. He works full time for CoPassion as a Student Connector. Josiah especially enjoys working one on one with people. He is big on developing deeper relationships with others and making them feel like they belong.
